Little Love Blue

The minute I came across Little Love Blue, I fell in LOVE. Call me a fool for all things cute and quirky, these handmade goodies got me good! Cary, the creative behind Little Love Blue, has a unique way of creating these animals. They are whimsical and fairy tale-like...taking me away to the "land of nod". She takes photos of farm animals for inspiration. If you have a chance, check out her flickr photos. Those animals are so loveable! I love fiber arts. It was my favorite studio course in college. Her pieces are made with a sense of delicacy and carefulness. Take a peek.. I have to say, the fuzzy ewe ,polar bears, and donkey are my faves!

Warm Enough?

I had listed Yokoo as one of my creative inspirations. I found this pattern on the LionBrand site and this is how it turned out. The true test of its functionality will be this weekend, when I make my way up to the Northwest!

Warm Knitted Fashion Pieces

Etsy has posted a tweet on Yokoo. Being a fan of knitted goods as well as an amateur knitter myself, I found these fashionable pieces amazing! They are simple and look functionally warm, but the way Yokoo photographs her pieces really make the look a  high fashion masterpiece. Take a peek at her photos. Yokoo herself adds a bit of quirkiness to her photos, even sporting a Michael Jackson pin! She seems  to be inspired by Japanese Harajuku fashion trends, European runway, and modern dancing as well.

Pugsley Sweater

It has taken a while to finish this project.. I kept putting it off to print.  I used Violet and Almond LionBrand Cotton Ease yarn. I had to make up the pattern as I could not find one for the style I was looking for: boat neck striped sweater. I love the victorian gothic look in the Addams Family( Pugsley's striped shirt) as well as American Mcgee's "Alice", sadistic video game. I am anticipating Disney's Alice in Wonderland, directed by the Master of Goth, Tim Burton. A Series of Unfortunate Events the movie is a great gothic visual delight to watch, especially the end motion graphic credits.

Color Inspiration

Yarn color palettes are a great way to help with picking colors. Sometimes I end up using the same colors over and over again, especially in my design work, where those certain colors are the "trend". Of course, I am partial to my favorite hues and shades.

One day, when I have an actual studio, I would like to install this. It would be like having a big Pantone Color Book on my wall! This is the LionBrand studio in New York.

Carefully Crafted

I am just now updating my blog with past projects. Hopefully I can catch up and post the newest projects before the end of the week!

I like to knit. I have posted a photo album of some knitted projects on my personal website
Blushing Pearl  . I would like to acknowledge Sunny C. She taught me how to knit during a rainy lunch break one day at work. Sunny is a genius at knitting, making up patterns, trying complex patterns, knitting at stop lights, between saving huge files...She is probably the most creative person I know. Confessions of a Serial Knitter is her blog, though I don't think it has been updated in a while.

I've posted pictures of the letterpressed hang tags.
